It’s Construction Season! Take A Look At Some Of Minnesota’s Upcoming Construction Projects!

As most Midwesterners know, construction season takes place year-round! In order to avoid traffic delays due to road projects, take a look at a few of this summer’s upcoming construction zones:

  • Highway 1 in Murphy City will be undergoing improvement until the middle of August. You will experience single-lane closures as laborers work to raise the grade, reconstruct the highway, and replace the culvert.
  • Highway 1 in Tower and Ely will be obstructed during the daytime through the rest of July. The project is working to resurface 2.5 miles of the highway, and install ramps for pedestrian use.
  • Highway 1 in Oslo will have a detour as well as lane closures with flaggers during the entire fall season as the Red River Bridge trusses and guardrails are repaired.
  • Highway 2 at Bong Bridge in Duluth will have numerous detours for those who are westbound during the year of 2014 and eastbound during 2015 as expansion joints are replaced, and the bridge deck and sidewalk are resurfaced and painted.
  • Highway 2 in Duluth will have detours through November of next year as 3 ramps are repaired.
  • In Northeast Minnesota, highways 2, 65, 169, and 210 will experience daytime lane closures through June of next year.
  • Highway 2 from Cass Lake to Deer River will have lane closures through Fall of 2015 while 3 passing lane sections are added, along with turning lanes for 26 miles.
  • Highway 2 at Groveland Ave to N. Pine Street in Crookston will have lane closures through the end of spring as the slide area by Red Lake River is repaired.
