What You Should Expect From The Minnesota Vikings This Season

Minnesota Vikings Update

Football season is here! While the kickoff game is still a couple of weeks away, camp has started for the Minnesota Vikings. The first day of open camp started on July 26th, and is showing what may be in store for the season.

During last year’s season, five of the first six games were lost without running back Adrian Peterson and before rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was able to start making some strides. Mike Zimmer’s first season defense ranked seventh in yard passing allowed, which is a major improvement for the team.

This year, there are many important additions to the team, including corner backs Terence Newman and Trae Waynes, wide receiver Mike Wallace, and quarterback Shaun Hill. The new season also comes with some loses, including wide receiver Greg Jennings, full back Jerome Felton, linebacker Jasper Brinkley, and quarterback Matt Cassel.

The Minnesota Vikings are expected to start getting national acclaim as the team is on the rise in the NFC, putting them on track for a winning record. However, whether that expectation is good enough to get a spot in the playoffs will depend on Bridgewater’s progress, the improvement of the offensive live, and Zimmer’s continued ability to fluster the opposing offense with his deceptive, aggressive schemes.
