Exercise and physical activity fall into four basic categories – endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility. Most people tend to focus on one activity or type of exercise and think that they are doing enough – however, this is not often the case.

Mixing up your workouts mean that you are bettering your body! Check out how to do just that:

    Endurance or aerobic activities increase your breathing and heart rate. They keep your heart, lungs, and circulatory system healthy and improve your overall fitness. Building up your endurance makes it easier to carry out many of your everyday activities without a hitch!
    Workout: Go on a brisk walk, jog, and dancing.

    Strength exercises make your muscles strong. Even small increases in strength can make a big different in your ability to complete simple tasks like climbing stairs and carrying groceries.
    Workout: Lift weights or use a resistance band.

    Strengthening your core muscles help to improve your balance, preventing falls and slips!

  1. Flexibility
    Flexibility exercises stretch your muscles and help your body to stay limber! Flexibility in your muscles and joints allow you more freedom of movement for other exercises and everyday activities.
